The Washington Center Academic Internship, Scholarships Available
The Washington Center is an education non-profit providing an academic internship experience in Washington, D.C. Their mission is to help you launch a career you’ll love through their one-of-a-kind program. Students are hand-matched to internships in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and receive tailored advice and guidance throughout their time in the capital. Internship runs June 7 – August 5, 2022.
You must be an undergraduate in good continuing Academic Standing, at least 18 years of age, sophomore, junior, or senior AND not graduating before December 2022, maintain GPA of 2.75, and receive academic (internship) credit for the program.
The University of Arizona has a limited number of scholarships available for The Washington Center Academic Internship to fund program fee as well as housing for those planning to live in Washington, D.C. To apply for this scholarship you must first apply to The Washington Center Academic Internship (use code TWC60 to waive $60 application fee) and then apply for the scholarship here. Deadline to apply for both is February 28, 2022. Acceptance to TWC does not guarantee scholarship award. Students will be notified after the February 28 deadline.
To apply for scholarship, upload a resume and 1-page letter of interest (cover letter) answering the following prompt:
What will you bring from family, your community and experience at the University of Arizona that will benefit the internship cohort and the organization where you will be placed? How do you expect to draw on The Washington Center internship to benefit your community in the future?
In addition, we will review documents submitted to The Washington Center.

You will be responsible for the required U of A summer internship tuition & fees for the number of credits you earn (see your advisor), airfare, food, local transportation and any other personal expenses. These are unpaid internships. To learn more about the internship program, visit TWC.
